Let's Make (Almost) Anything

Computer Controlled Cutting
For this project I constructed a 2D box in Corel Draw. I learned the difference between vector and raster images and I used that knowledge to design shapes and add images to my project (which I gave as a gift to my year old son). The design process took a while but I was very pleased when my design began to take shape. I also got good practice cutting a straight line down a sheet of cardboard. It sounds simple enough but as a class we learned that we should only use what we needed when it came to lab materials.

I practiced press fitting and ended up creating my own type of press fit (which has likely already been created). 6 faces were created; each face had an added raster effect to it.

I have a better understanding of the use of press fit construction and I see how it's practice is so useful in construction and design. I plan to use the techniques I learned in this project to help me accomplish my final project.
